“Connected”
42” x 48”
This piece had a past life as a 1978 Baldwin “Funster” electric Organ. I wondered what it would look like to create something that felt timeless and organic out of something considered cold and synthetic. The heart of the piece frames the electrical circuit boards of the organ in a way that not only points to the necessity and centrality of their function, but also to their innate, yet overlooked beauty. The moss-like appearance is achieved through a mixture of paint and colored saw dust and is meant to give the whole work a “grounded” feeling. My goal with this piece is to convey that in the end, “it’s all connected”.
