"Doris" (cowboy hat band) - SOLD
This commission piece was a “no” for me at first. I had never thought of my pieces as something you could wear. However as I sat with the thought, ideas started flashing in my brain.
This suede hat band is made of piano strings, felt tipped piano hammers and various parts taken from the mechanics of an old player piano. I particularly love how the piano strings serve as the clasp that holds the whole band together.
This was such a fun challenge and I hope I get to do another one!
