70” x 40”

“There’s Gold in these rivers.”

Those were some of the words that I heard when I prayed about what kind of piece to make for Youth With A Mission in Starkville, Mississippi. This piece was so much fun as it involved so many different textures and techniques. I really felt the father’s heart for what our dear friends are pioneering in the state of Mississippi as I put my hands to this work. Find out more about what they’re doing at www.ywamstarkville.org

“The Healing of the nations is here in these rivers”

“It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:2‬ ‭

The name “Mississippi” comes from a Native American word meaning, “great river” or “Father of rivers”. This piece is a prophetic statement that the “healing of the nations “ is here in the people of this land and river. The center of the piece is raised and resembles a large magnolia leaf, which is the state tree and state flower of Mississippi; with its veins flowing out as rivers. The backdrop is textured with Pine needles as the Loblolly pine is the most common tree in Mississippi. The gold throughout the piece symbolizes the people of this beautiful land and their value in The Kingdom of God.

The “Leaves” are made up a Polyester/Cork/Gold flake composite fabric. The charcoal gray background is made of layers of crushed pine needle.
